Our Journey

Chasing Daylight began in early 2025 when Jacey Rae and Rachel came together with a shared passion for loud, energetic music. With Jacey on vocals and rhythm guitar and Rachel on lead guitar, the foundations of the band were formed.

At the beginning, things were small. We started out by performing at school shows, with our music teacher stepping in on drums to help bring our songs to life. Those first performances gave us the confidence to realise we wanted to take the band further, and that’s when we decided on the name Chasing Daylight.

As we started building the band, we began searching for a permanent drummer and found Ben, who was local to us and shared the same passion for music. With the three of us together, we built a full set of covers, developed our sound, and started performing at bigger events.

From there, things really started to move quickly. We entered the studio to record our debut single, “Dance With The Devil”, marking the start of a new chapter for the band. Not long after, we completed the lineup by welcoming Eric on bass, bringing even more energy and depth to our sound.

Now as a full four-piece, Chasing Daylight are writing new music and continuing to grow together.

From local festivals to charity events, here is a look back at some of the shows that have helped define our journey as a band.

Stourport Food And Music Festival

24th May 2026, this was our first performance as Chasing Daylight. We played a mix of pop punk and emo covers to an amazing local audience. It was an unforgettable milestone for us! The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish, and seeing so many people enjoying our performance made it such a special day.

JackFest26

20th June 2026, we were honoured to perform at JackFest26, a charity festival all in support brain tumour research and awareness. Sharing the stage with other talented bands whilst raising money for such an important cause made this one of our most important shows to date. The atmosphere throughout the day was incredible, and the audience gave us an amazing welcome making it a truly unforgettable experience.

We are excited to announce that our debut single, “Dance With The Devil”, is officially out now and available to stream worldwide!

Releasing our first song is something we’ve been working towards since Chasing Daylight was formed, and seeing it finally out there for everyone to hear is an amazing feeling. This track represents who we are as a band and the direction we want to take our music, combining our love for pop punk, emo and alternative rock into a song we are proud to call our own.

We recorded “Dance With The Devil” at Load Street Studios on the 26th May 2026. Spending hours writing, rehearsing and perfecting every part of the song before it was ready to release.
